While imprisoned in Rome in the early 60s CE, the Apostle Paul articulated several letters designed to encourage Christians in the Greco-Roman cities of Ephesus, Philippi, and Colossae. These letters made such an impression on these communities that they circulated throughout other Christian communities and, due to their impact, were eventually included in the New Testament. Our Sunday Morning Bible Classes will pay close attention to Paul’s articulation of the impact of the resurrected Christ and the implication of God’s activity for the life of these young Christian communities. N.T. “Tom” Wright, senior research fellow at Wycliffe Hall at the University of Oxford, will be our guide to this exploration of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon.
