Crestview loves our surrounding community and is committed to sharing the Gospel and resources with our neighbors.
Part of that vision and effort can be seen in our Community Center, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in early 2024. The Community Center provides space and equipment to groups and families in the greater Waco area free of charge (if scheduled during our regular business hours). Current activity statistics reflect a high level of usage 7 days a week by many different groups and organizations. Over 3,000 visitors from our community use this building every month.
In 2023, Crestview established the Crestview Christian Counseling Center in response to the mental health crisis that became so prominent in the wake of the quarantines associated with COVID–19. Waco and the surrounding community lacked sufficient counselors and mental health professionals. Our Counseling Center has two full-time counselors and is working to add more. In August 2024, Crestview hired a Clinical Director to guide the Counseling Center and help it grow to meet the mental health needs of our neighbors.
Night to Shine is another major event Crestview hosts each February to serve our neighbors and share God’s love for the our neighbors with special needs and disabilities. This event is a prom for those ages 14+ with special needs and disabilities to celebrate them and their caregivers and share God’s love for them so they know they are made in His image and loved dearly by him. Each of our guests is crowed King and Queen of the Prom. This precious community is often overlooked or neglected , and this event highlights their place among us so they are seen and loved. It also provides an opportunity for Crestview to love and pamper the family and caregivers of our Kings & Queens.
This event attracts hundreds of volunteers throughout the community. It takes roughly 400 volunteers to fully serve and honor our Kings & Queens. Each year, we continue to add more and more volunteers from outside our membership as we draw attention to this community that is loved by God and worthy of our attention.
